Synapse — Network

The thesis

What investment banks didbefore the internet — rebuilt for now.

I / Before

Before the internet, this was a person’s job. A banker knew which families held capital, which operators needed it, and which combination would hold. Finding people and connecting them wasn’t a feature of the business — it was the business.

The internet was supposed to replace that. It didn’t. It replaced the reaching — cold email, LinkedIn, contact databases — while the trusting stayed exactly where it was: in private rooms, on personal referrals, inside networks you either inherited or spent twenty years building.

II / The blind search

Every investor and lender has a narrow lane — deal size, sector, structure, stage — and none of it is written down anywhere.

So a manager raising a second fund, a company raising a round, and a business seeking acquisition financing all run the same play: guess, ask around, get passed along, repeat. There is no aggregated way to match a specific deal to the specific capital whose criteria actually fit. The result is an industry moving hundreds of billions a year on a search process that would embarrass a used-car lot.

We validated this the direct way: managing partners and fund managers, asked independently, agreed on two things — nobody has solved it, and whoever does captures a share of the biggest industry in the world.

III / The white space

The unlock isn’t another database. It’s a verified network that knows two things about every member: what they hold, and what they’re hunting.

Investors need investors — LPs seeking managers, GPs seeking anchors, funds trading looks at deals outside their lane. Founders need the three investors whose thesis actually matches, not a list of four thousand. Vendors need the rooms where funds are formed. Each of these is an introduction problem, and they compound: every verified member added makes every other seat more valuable.

We’re already making these connections by hand — funds to services, startups to funds, capital to deals. Every conversation adds to the map of needs and assets. The platform turns that map into a matching layer: profiles, stated appetites, and introductions that arrive because both sides asked for them.

IV / The stance

Whether you’re raising your first fund, closing your second, sourcing the right acquisition, or looking to lend — right now, the only option is doing it alone. We’re building the alternative.

An exclusive network with one admission requirement: something to give, and something you need. In return — access to exactly what you’re looking for, from people already vetted to be worth knowing. No one has built this. We’re already becoming it.
